Chiraag Darbar is a Consultant at Europe Economics, joining in October 2007. Chiraag has worked on several projects in the field of utility regulation. He has worked on projects for UK regulators including studies for Ofwat and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) which analysed different approaches to regulation, the relative merits and drawbacks of these approaches, and the impact this would have on regulated firms. He has also been involved in the review of the last two price controls for the Single Electricity Market Operator in Northern Ireland and Ireland. He has worked on several energy and environmental economics projects, including impact assessments of proposed changes to regulations for the Department for Communities and Local Government; and a project for DG TAXUD which reviewed the implementation of the Energy Taxation Directive across the EU.
Chiraag completed an MSc in Economics at London School of Economics (LSE), having previously achieved his undergraduate degree there.
